Fall 2014 STEP Awards Announced
Mon, 08/07/2017 - 3:53pmFor the Fall 2014 cycle, fourteen (14) awards totaling $424,834.78 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP). Of the those proposals funded, four (4) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $39,162.00 (average $9,790.50/project). Interestingly, this cycle, two (2) of the four (4) "sustainable" projects were SMART Classrooms/TEC rooms and the remaining were network/wireless infrastructure projects.
The highest rated (by the STEP Council in rank order H-L) proposals for the cycle included: Dupre Library Wireless Access Point Deployment, Materials Center Computer Update, H.L. Griffin 307 Computer Classroom PC Replacement, Digitizing L’Acadien, Audio Instructional Lab Upgrade (Burke-Hawthorne Annex), Macintosh Lab Campus Integration Pilot, and Microbiology Lab Computer/Projector. Funded grant scores ranged from (H-L) 86.46 to 68.75. Other interesting awards included: EE Computational Upgrades; PSYC Instructional, Testing, and Experimental Lab; MODL Language Resource Center Replacement (HLG 109); TEC Classrooms for Department of Military Science; Virtual Desktop for Software Development Education; UAV’s for Student Projects; and EDCI SMART Classroom.
