Spring 2014 STEP Awards Announced
Mon, 08/07/2017 - 3:53pmFor the Spring 2014 cycle, eleven (11) awards totaling $483,722.33 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP). Of the those proposals funded, seven (7) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $82,193.90 (average $11,741.99/project). Interestingly, this cycle, five (5) of the seven (7) "sustainable" projects were network/wireless infrastructure projects and the remaining two were SMART Classrooms/TEC rooms.
The highest rated (by the STEP Council in rank order H-L) proposals for the cycle included: Projector Replacement for English Department Computer Classroom H.L. Griffin 106, MDD Wireless Access Point Deployment, MDSN Wireless Access Point Deployment, Data Network Building Speed Enhancement - Phase II, A SMART Classroom in Chemistry, and Wireless Access for Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Funded grant scores ranged from (H-L) 63.34 to 54.17. Other interesting awards included: C. L. Rougeou Hall STEP Smart Classrooms 336, MX Wireless Access Point Deployment, New Computers in the Freshman Biology Labs, EDCI Mobile Computer Cart Updates, and a Mobile Version of the University’s Website.
