For the Fall 2010 cycle, twenty-two (22) awards totaling $360,940.68 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP).  Of the those proposals funded, four (4) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $38,628.71.

This cycle was the first to utilize the new electronic proposal process and updated STEP Charter and STEP Plan approved by the SGA in April, 2010.  In summary, the revised Charter changed the composition of the STEP Council to include University Chief Information Officer, SGA Vice President, all SGA College Presidents, the University Provost or his/her designee, the University Vice President of Student Affairs or his/her designee, and the Director of Disability Services or his/her designee. In the absence of a college president, that president may send a senator from his/her college for that college’s representation.  In addition, the revised STEP Plan (2009-2014) created the STEP Sustainability Plan designed to maintain the "open-use" facilities created by the STEP program.

In addition to the funded proposals listed on the awards page, it was also determined by the STEP Council that one additional proposal should be funded directly from the newly created Sustainability Fund (FA10-04* Guillory Hall STEP Lab Supplies, Maintenance and Personnel Funding).
